HP 612 - Interprofessional Education for Healthcare Providers
If you are required to take an elective in your program, sign up for HP612 (Interprofessional Education for Health Care Providers), the 3 credit graduate elective course disseminated through the VIPE. Start completing learning activities now and then wait until the semester you have (or plan to) completed 45 hours of learning activities to enroll in HP612.
Even though these learning activities are free, you will be required to pay Shenandoah University tuition when you enroll in the course to receive University credit. If you are an SU student, place HP612 on your educational plan in WebAdvisor (obtain your advisor's approval)., if you are outside of SU, register as a visiting student (through Hornet Central) and transfer your elective to your own school's program. Please be sure to consult with your advisor!
Course Description: HP612: Interprofessional Education for Health Care Providers. This course provides an opportunity for learners to acquire the knowledge, skills, values, meanings and experiences associated with working in interprofessional healthcare teams. Learning activities are disseminated through the online Shenandoah University Virtual Interprofessional Education (VIPE) Learning Center. The learner will access learning activities on the management of Rural Healthy People 2020 priority health conditions utilizing the "Interprofessional Education Collaborative" and "Institute of Medicine" competencies. Instructional contact hours may be accumulated over more than one semester. Students are advised to enroll in this course in the semester when the requirements will be completed. Three (graduate) credits.
